Pursuant to Law 191 of 2008 issued June 2008, the Parliament amended Law No. 89 of 1998 by increasing the limits of bids that are offered strictly to local contractors within each Governorate to EGP 400,000. Also, the new amendment authorizes the contracting department to review the contract value every three months and adjust the value upward or downward, as the case may be, pursuant to elements that the contractor has set in its bid. Amendments to the price in such case shall be binding on the parties.
